Mike Curry Photography -
Charity Photo Auction
My lab printed the wrong photo on an order I put
in, this wouldn't normally be an issue as they are usually just paper prints for
posting, but they printed a high gloss Perspex Face Mounted 24 x 14 inch (61x35 cm) Lambda print on a
Dibond (aluminium) backing sheet. In English -
a very high quality modern glossy looking print. Something
non-recyclable and far too good to waste.
The photograph (opposite - larger version on eBay
page) is of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, which I had taken as part of a private
commission for Meantime Brewing and under the terms of my license I cannot sell
it to the public, so I suggested to my lab that, rather than waste it, I
auction it for charity and the Royal Naval College has kindly agreed to that.
I am putting it on an eBay charity auction (click
here to go to auction) and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Save The
Children. The auction will start on 18 Mar, 2010 22:10:47 GMT and last for 10
days only. I will deliver the photo free of charge by hand anywhere with a
London postcode. It could be sent by courier too to anywhere in the world but
it is quite heavy and fragile so would need packing very well which may prove
costly, so the cost would have to be paid for by the winning bidder, so as not
to reduce the donation amount.
I hope that there is sufficient interest in this to
make it worthwhile for Save the Children and if you have helped promote this
page then I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to you all!
Happy bidding!
